Yahya Kirdi's words that Rafa Benitez "didn't do anything good for Liverpool" left me full of anger. There was the absolute proof that he was sleeping with George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
When I discovered that he was close to the American duo and that he talks to George Gillett every day (his words, not mine), I just knew this was never going to be the right man for Liverpool Football Club. If the current custodians are backing his bid then you can be sure it's a better deal for them, than the club. This Stavros Flatley lookalike (pictured with his pals) is the type of character you'd expect to see serving up keebabs down the Hight Street at 3am on a Sunday morning. His words about Rafa are nothing short of a disgrace because whether you rated the former boss or not, he gave us number 5. Now I've heard people say it was Houllier's team and to some extent it was, but the difference is Rafa got those players playing again. I had time for Ged and for Rafa and I don't want to sit here and debate their qualities and their faults but any Red should know that such comments from Kirdi are dangerous. Mark my words, this was Gillett and Hicks talking.
None of us know what the next owner(s) of Liverpool Football Club will do. They can promise us the world but actions speak louder than words. While Kirdi says the wrong things, Kenny Huang says the right things and I like that. I'm not naive enough to throw my full backing behind him or anyone else because I don't know how sincere they are but everything I've heard sounds great. I just hope it's not a dream that fails to materialise. Interest from India sounded promising but they've cooled and the interest from the UAE is not as strong as it was which is a concern. I don't like the sound of the Rhone Group but again, none of us know what any of these people would do for the club. I just don't fancy Rhone as they appear to have connections to Hicks. I'm hoping to hear more positives in relation to Kenny Huang. The fact that he has reached out to the fans already is promising. The media, well they seem determined to smear his name yet you don't see them paying as much interest to Kirdi. I'm sure if you dug deep enough you'd find that someone paid for extra cheese or garlic over the years but he never served up. You know what it's like, you plead for "more garlic" and when you get too close to home and too far to go back, you realise the bastards never put it on as promised. So when I read headlines such as 'Liverpool sale plot thickens after Kenny Huang lawsuit is revealed' I turn a blind eye. I mean for God's sake, name anyone in serious business who hasn't pissed someone off at some time. Businessman are bent, politicians are bent and so are people involved in football. It seems to me like poor attempts by hacks desperate to make out they know what they're talking about. They're not all a shower but most are. Each newspaper, each hack, they all have different tales to tell. This is because their sources are connected to the club in very different ways. Behind most sources is an agenda. I've paid no attention to any of the reports over the last few weeks. I've actually tried to stay away from this frustrating and depressing situation and I'd advise you to do the same. I feel better for it. What's the point in debating it 24/7? I'll wait for comments from people such as Martin Broughton. Of course we have to carry updates for our members and non-members and report what the mainstream media are droning on about but as far as debating it, count me out. Before signing off, just a quick update to let you know that Christian Poulsen was at Melwood again today. He watched the Reds turn over Tranmere 4-0 in a behind closed doors match. Kenny Dalglish jetted out to Ireland today and Sammy Lee headed to Finland. More about that one our members website if you're interested. Friday's newspapers could be interesting. If they're not, then Sunday's will probably leave you wanting to slash your wrists. YNWA Join me in our free forums or add me as a friend on Facebook. You can even watch my video rants on YouTube.
