Striker keen on Liverpool transfer talk
04 January 2012

Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic says he is flattered with reported interest in him from Liverpool.

The 26-year-old Glasgow Rangers star has been linked with ourselves and a couple of other Premier League clubs but insists he is only focused on playing for his current employers.

Jelavic said: "Of course it (Liverpool link) is impressive to me, but I do not know how much truth there is.

"My task is to play. Liverpool is a great name, but I say the question is are they really interested? Every day in the paper a new club appears that wants me, and it is a little ridiculous. I do not know anything.

"That's why I just do not read newspapers, I want to concentrate on Rangers. I've got two and a half years on my contract and if the club decides to sell me, because they know that we are in a difficult financial situation, then fine."

Meanwhile, Dirk Kuyt - who is reportedly unsettled at Anfield - is a target of Turkish side Galatasaray.

KOPTALK hasn't been on form since July due to a serious illness in the KOPTALK family. The editor's mother is critically ill in hospital and this is naturally having an effect on our performance. The rest of the team is here as normal but without the 'Big Man' barking instructions and sparking a few debates, the place isn't the same. Most of you are aware of this. Thanks for your kind words of support and patience.
