10 January 2012

Vincent Kompany is to serve a 4-match ban after having his appeal against the red card he was shown against Manchester United at the weekend rejected by the Football Association. The decision means that the Manchester City skipper will have to sit out of both legs of the League Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

A statement issud by the FA said: 'An Independent Regulatory Commission has today dismissed a claim of wrongful dismissal from Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany following his red card for Serious Foul Play in The FA Cup Third Round tie between Manchester City v Manchester United on 8 January 2012.

'Kompany will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect. The suspension consists of a statutory three-match suspension for Serious Foul Play plus one additional game given this is Kompany's second dismissal of the season'

Meanwhile, KOPTALK understands that football agent Frederic Guerra is on Merseyside. Guerra represents a number of players but is rumoured to be in England to discuss the future of Loic Remy who has been heavily linked with Tottenham. More on that on our members website.
