Liverpool have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon for teenager João Carlos Teixeira.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was identified by Reds boss Kenny Dalglish during the NextGen series and providing he passes a medical, he should be confirmed as a new signing soon.

Although highly-rated, he has never figured for the Sporting Lisbon first team. Even so, they were reluctant to sell but had to cash in due to financial difficulties.
