Whats political about burning peoples homes down or clearing out the local corner shop. You really need to get out of your ivory tower and stop complaining about the state ruining your life. Get a grip for f^^k sake. People like you don't half wind me up.

the people burning peoples homes and plundering stores are people from the underclass, people who feel that they've got no future at all under this system and therefore they've got nothing to lose. their actions are idiotic, well far beyond that. they're scumbags, but they're also the product of this system.

i can't help but think that this is exactly what the ones in power wants. when there's g20 protests the police are all over the place but where are they now? if the police "can't handle the situation" then they "have to" bring in the troops. we all know how that will end, more freedoms being taken away...

the more contagion we see economically will only breed more of this. lads we could all be on the streets. the song "common people" by pulp springs to mind. you dont know what it is to be poor until you are poor. it has an extraordinary affect on people. it cant be imagined. you have to experience it to understand how devastating it can be in every way.
in poverty you can get so low and shat on that your very survival can sometimes hinge on the choice between killing yourself or getting out on the street and making yourself heard.
there are plenty of people in these riots who are being opportunistic and thats wrong, i dont agree with it, although i understand it. but more importantly, if soooo many people couldnt give a fck about the law, their community, their fellow man, then they are being mistreated. This mistreatment of people could land on all our doors, and ya just might find yourself at the final straw, taking to the street to be heard.

There's always been a rich poor divide in the history of man.

There are no excuses what so ever with all thats been happening since Saturday.

What world do you live in?

not the same one you live in obviously. you seem far to removed from that part of society to understand whats going on.

but here's the thing. with this global downturn, its the poorer communities that get affected first. much like flood water reaching the people at the bottom of the hill first. the higher the water rises, the more you find everyone in the same predicament and in a common set of circumstances. my point is that all of us at some point may find ourselves in the same situation they are in where we have been backed into a corner so much that we dont give a sh*t about our government, town, city anymore.

but until that time comes we find two trains of thought. the ones who realise the wolf isnt far from the door, and the others who just want to scoff at the ruffians and pretend we are nothing like them and that the should all be exterminated. ultimately thinking the way the government wants you to think. encouraged by the controlled media.

How do you explain the 31 year old primary school worker that was up in court? Has the system and society failed him with his job and an income? Or is it just the media showing us what they want for their own agenda? To me he is just a lawless green [oops] who wants something for nothing like the rest of them.

and i think we're past the time where anyone care's what it makes you look like. if you have a certain view, then stand up for it no matter what names you're being called by certain people.
