Those two games are the FA cup semi final and the FA cup final.
I think Kenny will be given another season with two cups under his belt. Becoming a good cup team is nothing to sneeze at, especially with us being in Europe next season. It shows that we can win the big games and beat anyone on any given day. However, we are still a poor league team and don't beat the lesser teams. If we lose either of the two FA cup games I think the owners will feel obliged to evaluate Kenny on his poor league position after then announced that 4th was the goal. I also think that the pressure to sack Kenny will ramp up if we don't win the FA cup... but a second trophy would put some gloss on the poor league campaign.
I think the semi-final against Sunderland or Everton is winnable but the final may be a difficult slog. However, we've beat all the top teams in the cup this year so it is not beyond us.
We know all the different arguments between the Kenny out brigade and those who think he should get another year. I am most interested in knowing if you think the two cup games are 'must win' for Kenny to keep his job.
Haven't read most of the thread but I have to agree here, in my opinion winning 2 cups in one season is not easy and if we do end up with the FA cup as well, I think we can call it a successful season regardless of our league position especially we are back in Europe next season. If Kenny is able to lift the FA cup I think the owners will have to be very harsh to sack him and may find it extremely difficult. I agree that his tenure rests on those 2 games in the cup because Kenny has defeated top teams time and time again in those two competitions so lets see whether he can do it.
