I genuinely think we'll batter them. The "feel-good" factor about the Cup competitions has given us a something to cheer about in an abysmal campaign.
We've always managed to perform to our capabilities in the Cups, which begs the question why we haven't done so in the league!

that's the part that really annoys me

Why only get motivated for the cup and give such half arsed attempt on the league

we are Liverpool and should try for every game we play

He wasn't a ridiculous appointment. In hindsight, maybe you could say that. At the time he was brought in, it was a 100% no-brainer. After he did so well then, it was impossible NOT to give him the job. There would have been uproar. He earned his chance. He got it, and it hasn't worked out. So be it. It wasn't a ridiculous appointment though, it was 100% the right decision for me, I'm not gonna go all 'Captain Hindsight' on everyone, that's too easy really.

I take your point Henry in a way was out manoeuvred by Dalglish, Henry had to give him the job there would have been huge fan backlash at that time. But I still feel then Henry and FSG wanted their own appointment. For the few of us old boys though we knew what we were getting with Dalglish I was prepared to give it a chance but it’s turned out actually worse than I thought. The big danger with Dalglish was that he would do ok neither good or bad and he would be impossible to get rid of. But events are such that it would be quite an easy decision for FSG to get rid of him and I think no fans would mind even the pro Kenny legend ones.

If he goes, at least he's had his chance. If he'd been dumped at the end of last season after his great work, not only would there have been a backlash, but if the new manager hadn't worked out either, we'd be now all talking about what might have been with Kenny and how wrong the owners were not to give him a chance. Hindsight is a fantastic thing, eh?

Christ, what are you all going to do if Kenny somehow holds onto his job, makes a few decent signings this summer, and goes on to be a success? I'm not saying it's gonna happen but there is a precedent for such things. The bottom line is - there's no point hating him and wishing him ill. He will either be moved out or he'll find a way to get the team going better in the league. You can't begrudge him his chance - and you can't blame the owners and fans for wanting to give him a go.

We have given him a go and look where it got us. The club is on its knees.

I'm certainly doing nothing of the sort, KP. Nobody would love for him to turn things around and make a success of things more than I would. The more time goes by, the more unlikely it looks, though. And the last thing I want to see happen is for him to be given another season, for him to sign more players than don't work out and for us to continue with a poor streak of form in the league and be in the bottom half come September or October and for the fans to completely turn on Kenny. That wouldn't be nice to see - not saying it would happen, but I think the stakes are too high both for the club and for the man's reputation, and I think that stepping aside in the summer is probably best for all concerned. It's difficult to see any other way at the moment, unfortunately.
