So, apparently, FSG asked Kenny Dalglish certain questions regarding his team selection and tactical setup. FSG were interested in why Maxi Rodriguez was not getting more game time when he was performing much better than Downing and Kuyt. Several LFC fan sites have touched on this story and the editors on these sites have confirmed that it is true and that FSG did ask Kenny these questions.

What are your views on this, should FSG be interferring in the managers selection and tactical setup? Should FSG have a say in the matter? Should Kenny admit that he has made a mistake by persisting with Downing when Maxi has been getting the much needed goals for us?

Finally, what would your choice be if you were the manager, Maxi or Downing?

THis was mentioned by the commentator in the game on ESPN. Clearly FSG are unsettled and dispite the words last week from Tom Werner it appears are not confident with the management at Liverpool and not just Dalglish. Expect more changes when the season is over.

im not the biggest kenny fan but i dont think the owners should get involved in team selection, i believe its the managers job let him handle it. he sees what hes working with everyday, if the owners can see that maxi plays better than downing and the manager cant see it, they will then realise the manager isnt ready. As for who would i play, i wouldnt play maxi with carroll.makes no sense having the crosser on the bench when the target man is on. surez kuyt/bellamy and maxi as the front runners. downing carrol suarez as the other front runners.

Chris I entirely agree its not the owners place to be picking the team. However the fact that they are making these statements indicates all does not sit well with them.

a owner has the right to ask a manager about his team selection, but he has no right to demand who plays.

Agree completely. I think it's well within their rights to ask the question, as long as it's not done in a condescending way. Kenny's forgotten more about football than they know, but they're the ones paying Maxi's wages. 13 goals in his 20 previous games before yesterday is an incredible record, and most would agree he should get more playing time. It's a mystery as to why he doesn't. It's a fair question, but I don't think it's their place to get involved in any sort of demands for who plays and who doesn't. As long as they keep out of that, there won't be problems. We've all seen what's happened with Abramovich doing that at Chelsea with the likes of Shevchenko and Torres. He buys players than the manager doesn't want and puts pressure on the manager to play them. It doesn't work.

Well, if the owners put pressure on KD about his selections... he still selected Downing and Henderson for the semi-final. That's why I asked if there was a source for this supposed questioning.

Everybody agrees that Maxi's goals to game ration warrants him more game time. But when he does start I've noticed lots of fans complain about his overall contribution and lack of wing-play. Ghosting in at the far post is something he's brilliant at... but other parts of his game seem less satisfying in terms of overall game contribution.
