Agree with what you're saying but why do fans count the three Wembley appearances.Only the two finals count.I can't see why we're boasting about a semi appearance just because it's Wembley.the semis shouldn't be played there

ok, so semi-finals are worthless. if you don't win the trophy there's no reason to make anything out of a cup run. We only won one game in the Carling Cup - fortunately it was the final.

Yeah, winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final is disgraceful. Only 3 clubs have ever won both in the same season, so how sh!te are we under Kenny? Sack the lot!

The cup runs have cost us in the league - maybe this side only has so many wins in it, and we've largely used up our quota in the cups. Is there really any difference between 6th (where we finished last season) and 8th (where we are now) given that we've won through to our 3rd trip to the new Wembley in a few months when we'd never been there before?

So we may finish below Everton on the table for the first time since the Premier League started. Everyone can get lucky once.

They've finished ahead of us in the PL once before... funnily enough, that season we got to the League Cup Final and won the Champions League... but that season was classed as a failure too because we were 35 points off the leaders, outside the top 4 and Everton finished ahead of us whistle

All i meant was Wembley is only important if it's a final. As long as we win every game up to the final it doesn't matter where it's played. The only important thing about Wembley is that it's the final.I haven't been but i've heard that it's not a great stadium for the atmosphere

Oh right! Forgot about that one somehow. whistle

We obviously need to stop winning multiple cups in the same season. Everton take advantage of such lapses.

Crafty b*stards! If we can make similar progress in the following seasons as we did last time they finished ahead of us, then I'm all for them winning their remaining games!

Exactly. Last time they snuck ahead of us we bagged 2 trophies before the start of the next season. We could do that again. As for next year's league prediction then:
1-Man City, 2-Everton, 3-Liverpool, 4-Newcastle (LFC winning the Europa League and the Super Cup, in keeping with the Everton thing)

Wouldn't *that* shake the world?

I hope the moderators get rid of the people who post multiple threads on the same subject.
