It usually wouldn`t but the anti Kenny brigade see it as yet another opportunity to criticise our manager.

It's tiresome. People have very short memories. When Alonso first signed for us, he said he would like to return to Spain one day. His own words. Now whether he wanted to go then or Benitez hurried him along a bit, he was going anyway. I think he went when he wanted to go. It was clear he would only be here 5 or 6 years max from when he signed if he planned to return to Spain.

Alonso had one absolutely great season. One good season, two average and one poor from memory. Unfortunately for those fans who as above have such poor memories, he left on a high, and those fans can only remember the great.

It's worth noting that there has been a study into when players have good seasons. It turns out they have a much better season than usual when they are looking for a new contract (I doubt that surprises many). I suppose this would also apply if you're looking for a move, as Alonso was. I would have liked him to stay, but it was his choice.

Skrtel has just had one of his best seasons. New contract or transfer? If he wants to go, then sell him for a high fee.

sorry mate but your wrong xabi may have wanted to go home eventually but not for many years to come he was happy at liverpool until mr benitez changed it and i know this personally as i have posted many many times , dont forget benitez had him sold to arsenal for £ 12 million but xabi informed his agent to ask for massive wages knowing arsenal wouldnt break the wage structure so he could stay at liverpool and many many more reasons.

Get rid. If he doesn't want to stay, then he can do one!

don't think it is true but we cannot allow martin to leave as it would mean that carra would play more games.

I have a sneaky feeling Carra may announce his retirement at the end of this season...

Liverpool isn't as attractive a city as London or sunny Spain etc. we have to realise, that any of our players could be off, except usually the ones we want to get rid of
Liverpool are now a selling Club, if we have players who play really well then they are always going to be at the mercy of bigger more powerful predator Clubs, we cant complain because we used to take other teams best players 20 odd years ago, what goes around comes around as they might say.
