Leaves space for a forward, and 1 winger and 1 space to promote a midfielder from youth, could be Shelvey or Eccleston or Sterling or Coady, and obviously Robinson to become lb understudy, selling Meireles over a new contract of 20k a week extra was ludicrous and imo the reason we didn't make the top 4.

When he left the team didn't play well even when he wasn't starting the team didn't play well and when he came on as a sub it usually resulted in us winning earlier this season.

But even worse his arrival at Chelsea improved them dramatically, before he arrived Chelsea were poor in every game they played when he arrived it got the best out of the forwards and att mids

Btw want to add selling the players who will go will raise a minimum of 17mil, add the 11 mil for meireles as well and thats a minimum of 27mil + the 30 odd mil we should get from having a almost debt free season, with the 30mil usually being profits.
Ofcourse owners may keep some of the 30mil so still a mimimum of 27+mil

Agree totally on Meireles Desh, got hammered for the same analysis some months ago here. The draws where we couldn't score he would have got at least 2 or 3 goals and it would have meant another 6-9 points and that's a conservative estimate.

Get in: honestly I'd take just Stevan Jovetic and if he's fairly priced the other Johnson oh and the lad at AC Milan... Aquilani.

See how we look then, and I'd imagine there'd be a lot less pressure having spent virtually nothing net for the summer. Add a few of the youngsters in for bit parts over the season.

Sell:

Carroll: 10mil. I'm sure a team like stoke would pay that much, he's worth it I think.
Kuyt: 6mil. He should fetch that kind of price on experience alone, plus he would get you 10 goals a season.
Adam: 5mil. Sure a team would pay that much for him, that nothing these days.
Aqualani: 6mil. That the asking price apparently.
Cole: 5mil. Had a decent season, and should get that price on experience.
Pacheco: 1mil. Here's hoping.
Maxi: 2mil. Last part of his contract, would still offer a team something. And apparently is good around the training pitch.

I know this is very hyperthetical, but I believe it's possible and needs to be addressed. So we could maybe get 35 mil from sales....MAYBE!

I think if we raised 20mil we should make our number 1 target Javi Martenez. He's a player that can control the midfield, and who can control a game without get forward to much, like Alonso.

How about a double swoop for Llorente and Martinez? Any chance of that happening?

I reckon you'd have more chance if you got them both. Because they have been playing together for around 6 years, and might want to continue at a club with a bigger name (and hopefully more prestige to come). I think if they went all guns to try and get these players, paying over the odds, even if that all we get, then it would be a successful transfer window.

Both could happen Snakeye and both would come but would be roughly 60mil for both so no lol,

40mil for martinez although am sure there was a clause saying he could go for 30mil but maybe he got a new contract with no new clause in it and say 20mil ish for llorente as 1 yr left on contract

btw Top4 it's not cause Meireles would score the goals we need but its his creativity and ability to make Suarez Spearing Kuyt, Maxi all play to their top levels whilst also pitching in with say 5-8 goals in the season thus far
