Foreign manager comes in, with his own style of attacking football, based on ability 1st, than being able to run round for 90 min, with poor/ average ability,.....
That means only a hand full of existing players the new manager will keep, the rest will be kept as squad players and some sold.

Managers like klopp,loew,avb, simone, van gael etc etc base their teams on players with very very good ability, so players like ie spearing, glen, skrtel, kuyt, hendo,Carroll etc etc will be squad players or sold.

Kd is doing great in the cup competitions, after only being in charge for a year.
But the clubs main targets needed to be achieved next year, cl place, challenging for the epl title all through the season.

If kd gets his new signing right in the summer, then I can see a top four finish next season, with another cup coming to anfield.
I wud also like to see a young manager working alongside kd, who will takeover as manager in two years.

British or non-British is not the issue.

We need players who have the right attributes to compete and the premier league and also in the champions league, both of which require some different qualities.

Similarly, from a managerial perspective we require someone who understands the difference between the premier league and continental football. Not only do they need to understand the differences, they then need to be able to select the right players, tactics, style of play etc. be able to communicate them to the players without antagonising them. Whilst also keeping the supporters happy.

None of the above is solved by the question of British or non British.

Personally, I hope Kenny succeeds but reckon he's only a short term solution - even if that's 5 years or so.

For the long term, I think we need to refresh things with a young manager who makes his big time name with us. Someone who can bring a modern, highly technical footballing style to our team whilst also being able to say the right things in public. I'd keep an eye on Brendan Rogers and just hope that a team like Spurs don't get to him first - though I suspect they will.

interesting point, Brendan rodgers is going to be a fine manager one day but not for us right now.

I am not in favour of any British manager to manage us, but if I was then Owen Coyle would be the one, he has the look and conducts himself like a old manager.

and he plays very entertaining football.

I don't care if the next player/ manager comes from Venus, as long as they take us back to the top of football.
