So why put the word "local" in the thread title? Why has local become the main topic of this thread? It should be an irrelevance where she's from. It's dangerous ground to be separating local from non-local fans, and I think the forums would be a lot better off if you didn't put it again, especially when as you say it makes no difference. o.k if you say forget about the local element as we are now all the same and we are a global brand e.t.c. where does the Club gets it's identity from if as you say we are all the same, if the Club first and foremost cant be linked with the City and it's people surely we are just an other franchise or company which is'nt special and can play games anywhere in the world. I admit I stick up for locals first and foremost for a simple reason I am one and I can relate to them, thats why I really feel for that woman who has lost her tickets to some faceless corporate firm who has bought her seat, that person will probably give it away or sell it to any tom, dick or harry who will almost certainly just visit for the day and wear a jester hat, they are not proper fans in my book compared to what her and her family have brought to the Club since 1904. I am not against from Out Of Town coming to visit the Club for the Anfield Experience but it should never be at the expense of a regular or definately not a local, which I feel this situation is about. See it was all nice and finished, and you have to go and start it up again. If the complaint would occur for any fan, then there is no need to say local in the thread. That's the point. I'm not interesting in discussing with you anything else, until you at least try to make an effort to understand what people are saying, and not put forward your own racist agenda at every thread. well we might as well leave it there, we will agree to disagree over the local issue, I think the topic was always going to involve a local theme which seems to attract controversy, I personaly think it's a topic which needs to be discussed as it does involve the football club and will never go away even if people want to bury there heads and think it doesnt exist. anyway thats my lott on the subject, lets just all just to agree to disagree move on...

Sorry, but I don't agree this is the club at fault. The seats don't belong to the fans, they belong to the club. It hasn't "been in her family for 100 years". I know what she means, but it was never hers in the first place, the fact she says it was, indicates quite a lot about her.
She was offered a new seat, and she was too stubborn to move. Well sorry lady, but the club needs to redevelop the stadium, and can't be held hostage, and progress halted by one stubborn old lady, who cares so much about the club she's calling them a disgrace simply for asking her to move seat! And then contributing to a negative article about the club.
The majority seemed to have selected other seats without any problems, but this one won't. When we redevelop Anfield, will have thousands of seats not being available. Fans need to get used to it.
You know some people here complain about the club being too sentimental, and that's what has held us back. Now we're more business focused, and less sentimental, and still there's complaints. +1

Well if you think all Liverpool supporters are the same then I am wasting my time, I am not saying one is better than another just that there are differences, a local fan will always look on the Club differently from somebody who chose to support the Club for whatever reason, its just the way it is. I can totaly understand the feelings of that poor woman, she feels she's been very poorly treated after the service her and her family have given the Club through good times and bad especialy when the Club was struggling and was'nt the global brand it is now, it's times like that the Club should be rewarding it's loyal fans not trying to pull a fast one over them by giving there seats out to people with more money which is basicaly what they are doing. A local fan is no better than an OOT fan. One has attachment to the city, the other maybe not so, but there is absolutely no way anyone can ever question either's support. A local fan can jump on a bus across town, an OOT may set off a day or 2 earlier to get to a game. As for the woman, I don't see what the problem is. She still has a season ticket, one that's been in in the family for more than 100 years. I'd be unhappy if I was forced to move but at the end of the day it's for the benefit of the club and all the fans so providing I retained my seat, what's the problem? Stay clear of the OOT bollox guys as it won't be tolerated on here. I'm sure people from OOT were also moved. Pathetic.
