So we just declared to the world that we don't want our up and coming 23 year old 35 million pound investment despite the fact that he was our most improved players late last season and one of England's bright sparks at the Euros. Instead of bringing him into training camp and giving him the 'clean slate' promised to all our players - we've just invited clubs to submit lowball offers and ridiculous loan request. Worse still, we're in talks a top 4 rival club about loaning him back with a view to taking over a 50 % loss - and to the club that mugged us in the first place. Oh and the only reasoning supplied so far is so that we can raise funds for a 29 year old American hopeful and a sprinter that claims to be a fan because his father was!

Has Comoli even left?

Yeah it's another Carroll related thread - that's the news at the moment so deal with it!

ball hasnt been kicked yet and andy hasnt been great since his move to liverpool , now i do like the lad but 11 goals in 50 odd games is a poor return on this investment , now if he goes then ok if he stays thats fine aswell but borini has signed and if dempsey, maybe walcott sign liverpool will be better .

spot on..carroll hasn't worked . OP got it right when he said we were mugged originally . Thats not BR's fault though, and he is trying to get his plans together, one that doesn't involve a big awkward centre forward. good on him.

Oh but Spearing, Adam, Downing have all worked... let's keep them then!

I think AC should at least be given a chance to show Rodgers whether he can fit into his system! Just because e hasn't played that way, it doesn't mean that he can't! I'd be disappointed if he were moved on without even given a chance!

If we get rid it has to be a sale. I just saw Newcastle wanted to only pay half his wages and only pay £13m at the end of it! That takes the [oops]. We should be asking at least £20m to start to maximise what we get and reduce our loss as much as possible.

50 GAMES and 11 Goals! Yes its a poor scorerate for a striker at that price. BUT! how many of the games are 90 minuts? how many of the games has he been given a decend run of games. He has been on and off the pitch the whole season and not been given a decent run of matches and rearly 90 mins in a game.

I would prefer to wave goodbye to Spearing and Henderson TBH. There are not many strikers like Carroll. There are also few strikers (despite his poor return last season) that do what he does better. Mr Sweden (Zlatan) is someone that does and is well and truly world class. Zlatan has the best part of 6-7 years on Carroll. He will come good. Sending him back to Newcastle (lest not forget they finished above us last season) will make them stronger. This is a daft. If we are not going to play him under Rodgers then send him somewhere else. My worry is that Carroll goes, is proven to be an English world class striker, and Rodgers philosophy does not work. Rodgers will be gone and another manager will come in probably dreaming of having a player like Carroll.

Because they're not really saleable assets. Downing is getting on a bit whilst adam and spearing are out and out sh!te - it would be a bonus to get them off the wage bill but their transfer fees would barely pay for andy carroll's bus fare back to newcastle. Kenny paid WAY too much for AC and every year that passes will see his value decrease which is why he must go now if he isn't in BR's 1st team plans.

I'm very surprised that we aren't offering henderson around the championship though.
