Couldn't agree more. Spending £15m on the likes of joe allen isn't the answer - we'd be better off spending it on top class scouting. Henry has said that top4 is NOT our aim next season - thank god that has come to light before the kenny fans start demanding BR's blood because their hero was sacked for 'not finishing in the top4'. Still can't help yourself can you? You hate Dalglish as much as Fazakerly hates Benitez. Blind-haters, you lot. If you two could stop behaving like ex-girlfriends the world would be a better place. As to the OP - what the Geordie says is 100% right, and is what a great many Liverpool fans accepted long ago, long before we even fell out of the running for top 4 last season. "It has to get worse before it can become better" - last season was "worse". "Better" this season would be qualifying for the Europa League via our EPL finish rather than FA runner-up/Carling Cup winner. Top 4 would be "exceeding expectations", but if Rogers can improve our general play there's no reason why we shouldn't be in with a shout of achieving that.

Personally I think after spending probably the most we are ever going to have over a 6 month period on absolute dross that didn't improve our team, Dalglish should take every pop someone wants to make. But that is just me, and I am very bitter about the unheard of waste of money that was wasted by dalglish and comolli. Noting about being blind haters though, dalglish had us playing some decent football last year, and it was impossible for him not to be given the job after his 6 month interim spell. But you live and die by your choices, so if people want to mouth off about how angry they are at the waste of money, so be it. Totally agree on the Georgie post, spot on. Although on your last point, I think it will take BR getting players to play out of their skin to get us into the top 4. We simply don't have the first 11 nor the squad to get into the top 4 right now. Hopefully he gets us playing good football, but even then I think we will be for the business end of the season, 3 or 4 games behind the pace for fourth.

I have no problem with visually impaired folk - in fact, some of my best friends are blind! Seriously though, "haters"?? how old are you, 12???

Although on your last point, I think it will take BR getting players to play out of their skin to get us into the top 4. We simply don't have the first 11 nor the squad to get into the top 4 right now. Hopefully he gets us playing good football, but even then I think we will be for the business end of the season, 3 or 4 games behind the pace for fourth. But where does this opinion come from that we dont' have the squad. So at xmas time last year, we were around 5th, and not far off 4th place, which I think was Newcastle then (could be wrong here). We lost Lucas for the season, we had Suarez controversy, and Suarez was banned for many games, two of our best players. Our form fell off, and then fell off at an even greater rate after we lost to Arsenal and it was clear we couldn't make top 4. So we finished 8th. That is with Dalglish, and all players underperforming, except for maybe Skrtel and Lucas before injury. So if we can do that by xmas, with everyone underperforming and a bad manager, what is this squad capable of with a good manager and players performing? Add in a little bit of extra quality, and I don't have the same negativity on our squad. My main concern is how long it takes to get the team understanding and playing the way Rodgers wants. I do think we'll finish 5th and miss out, but it won't be because the first 11, or squad is significantly inferior. This opinion comes from, .As you say I think it will take a while for a number of our players to adapt to the new quite intricate system. On top of that I'm not sure we even have the players for it this season. .Lucas And suarez were big losses, but 1. I'm not sure having them for all the games we didn't equals 20 or so points, it would certainly bridge the gap some what though. And 2. You are always gonna get injuries and suspensions, touch wood not to the same extent though. .You say 'all our players underperforming' but that's just an opinion. It might be the correct one, but maybe our older players are getting worse, maybe our new recruits aren't that good. Too many ifs and buts for me to say last years players are gonna perform better this year. .Our rivals seem to be strengthening quite a bit more than we are in terms of quality and number (bar arsenal but I've never once written them off and I won't now). .I clearly, and it is just opinion, don't rate our squad as highly as you do. I can't help that fact. We just have a difference of opinion on its quality. Don't get me wrong I think we had the squad to do better than we did, and I do actually think we under performed though that is not a gaurantee of performing this year by any means. 3 or 4 games is not that far off the pace, if we finish the season within 6 points of 4th I'll think that's an incredible achievement. I'm not expecting us to bridge the gap in one season is all. I think the system and the players and bolstering the team will take time. That is why I am of the opinion that we won't finish 4th, but it is just an opinion, I'm certainly not stating it as fact.
