Here's a video put together of Shelvey's play against Roma the other night, for anyone interested. I thought he was by far the best player for us on the night - miles ahead of anyone else. You can see that playing with Gerrard day in day out in improving him as a player. I see Gerrard trademarks stamped all over his play. He has a LONG way to go before he can even lace Stevie's boots, but I'm really excited about this guy - and he's only 20!

I agree, there are many on here wanting him to go on loan but I feel he is ready for the first team and ready to contribution.

Is it me, or has he bulked up a lot more? He's quite a solid lad. I like him, he's very confident.

I agree, he did have a good game and I think he'll be a quality player for us in the future. I'd prefer to see him get a full season of premier league football next season as a first choice player, I doubt he'll get that here. A loan to Swansea would be perfect for him.

By the way, I only saw the first half but I thought Ryan McLaughlin had a cracking game.
