Why?

Because getting beat handedly early in the season shows our frailties while the window is still open.

Because we got woke up on the first day and now have to work out the summer cobwebs.

Because it's clear that youngsters like Sterling, Pacheco and Suso played better football than what we saw today from the so called seniors.

Because now we don't have to hear "it's gonna be our year this year" trotted out.

Because it keeps BR honest and working hard.

Because it might embarrass and anger a few players and spark them into life. Gerrard/Downing/Borini and our defense were all poor.

Because teams that start of badly (Spurs were hammered in their first game last year) often turn it around.

Because we'll be up for the next game against City - and we always play better against top opposition

No, I have to agree a 3-0 loss with the games we've got coming up will be a real wake up call. A win would have been nicer though and certainly Agger being sent off at this point is dreadful news especially with Enrique seemingly injured. We can't play Coates or Carragher against City surely..

Oh and you missed out the Joe Cole was injured and will hopefully now miss a few games. Yay!

How anyone can think being hammered by an average side is a "blessing in disguise" is unbelievable

Sorry to break it to you Faz, but at the moment Liverpool are mid table fodder. It breaks my heart.

WBA were 10th.... that is almost by definition an average premier league side. But its more because we shouldn't be losing to them that is the blessing in disguise. If we got hammered by City we would see it as a bad day at the office and learn little from it.
