Completely disagree with this thread....
The Premiership and Champions league qualification is by far the most important target, its well documented what a slippery slope and vicious cycle it becomes to compete and attract top talent if we don't get 4th.
All the domestic cups and Europa league are no good for us, blood the youngsters give them the experience, the incentive to win these cups financially and brand wise are not strong enough at all. Look at all the players we are missing out on purely because we are not in the Champions League, additionally how much longer do you expect Suarez, Agger, Reina, Skrtel to stick around if we go another year without CL football.
We should be treating every premier league game like a cup final and ensure we make top 4. We do not have a strong enough first 11 to treat these cups with any importance. completely disagree with this post. Cups like Europa Leagues, F.A.Cups and League Cups are our only form of success as a football club, we will probably never play Champions League for a very, very long time maybe not ever and we certainly wont win any League titles so what is left for us to win if we dont take these cups seriously, Everton, Villa, Newcastle and Spurs could all say exactly the same as you if thats the case in that they are not good enough to win, just think you need to realise we are Liverpool Football Club 2012 and not Liverpool Football Club 1984 any longer.

Agree with this thread we should be going all out to win the Europa League. With the squad we have we should be more than capable aswel, tomorrow nights team for me should be Reina, Kelly, Coates, Agger, Robinson, Henderson, Spearing, Allen, Downing, Carrol, Borini.

There are pro's and cons associated with the Europa league. It's an interesting question. Agree we should go all out to compete in every game but CL qualification is first and foremost! To compete with other clubs for players signatures we need to be amongst the elite. If Thur night football hinders that target then we are better off without it. Sure give the young players a chance but i'm a firm believer that chopping and changing too many players in too many games leads to lack of consistency. we never had any European football last season and it hindered the season as we were poor so whats wrong with taking the Europa League serious maybe doing well in it and just be poor the same in the League, there is no difference whatsover. I like Brendan Rogers, I really want him to do well but I must say I am very disapointed he has rested key players in order to concentrate for the game against City, City is a game that is not important for us to win whereas tomorrow night is for me.

As a football club our only hope is silverware is the Europa League and one of the domestic cup competitions, if we dont take those serious we will never ever win a trophy, thats how simple it is, people need to understand and realise this instead of following pipedreams of League titles, European cups and top four finishes.
