Too right. BR has proven with the starting XI against city that's the way he wants to go with Coates, Stirling starting and fair play shelves looked good.

Don't worry soon we will be playin just like Swansea! What a load of bllx

One thing does wind me up. People sayin BR is going to get Liverpool playin good passing football like as if he's just taken the stoke job or something. LFC have always played good football it's in the blood. I think BR will improve us but he's got a decent foundation there to work with.

I think the difference people have with my view is because we both look at football now in different ways. I think when you are mid table or towards the top 6 or 7 you can move up and down places by having better players or a better manager than your rivals however when you get to the top four of City, Arsenal, Chelsea and United it does'nt work in the same way, you have to match them pound for pound plus the fact when you sign or develop a good player one of the big boys will take him off you like Torres went and maybe soon to be Agger. I honestly dont think this team as good as even the one from about 3 seasons ago which finished seventh and the squad is even much weaker in numbers, I just cant fathom how people figure on fourth especialy when the top four look stronger than ever and we also have a worse team than Spurs and Newcastle at present and a have a resurgent Everton on our coat tails to contend with too, lowest amount of home wins, last season, lowest goals scored in a season last season and lowest points tally in about 60 years tells it's own story and how much work is needed, one season wont fix that no way.

I think we've matched Arsenal pound for pound in the transfer market... We just haven't made very shrewd investments recently, hopefully that will change now.

The top 3 is ahead of the rest, 4th is very much up for grabs.

I agree. I would also add that to get in the top 4 we need to start by improving over last year which I have not seen so far. Yes, we improved in our City game compared to the WBA game but not yet over last year. We played better than City dominating them last year and drew (just as last Sunday), we got beaten at WBA which was not an improvement over last year. Against Arsenal we should have easily won last year if we would have taken our chances and if there was no RVP. Let's see how it goes.

Because Allen is the engine Vish. The guy is the glue and metal as Gerrard was under RB. He still talks the game but even having the greatest respect for the guy he hasn't got the motor he had. He can push up more as an attacker and adapt.

However, it was quite evident against City that our pace did come off second half. That tempo I don't feel is sustainable over 90 minutes against that opposition. If BR can get Sahin sharing some of the load then we really will look something when everything's gelled later year.
