For the last couple of summer transfer windows our signings have been fairly unimaginative, whilst there have been a few where we've gone 'What, why him?' (Poulsen, Konchesky etc) there hasn't really been anyone that's had the majority of fans going 'Who?' in the same way that the recent arrival of Oussama Assaidi has.
So to what do we owe this change in approach? Is it a new manager in BR? Is it the much discussed Moneyball methodology? Is it our new scouting team poached from the often equally unimaginative Man City? (probably why they left to be honest - only so many times you can scout Arsenal

)
Nope - turns out it's a high tech new scouting tool costing around £40 (or substantially less if you wait a few weeks or want an out of date version) and available to the keyboard toting masses of football fans around the world:
Secret to our new approach to Scouting His FIFA 2012 profile gives him 91/100 for acceleration, 90/100 for agility and 86/100 dribbling. The area he needs to work on - if the football console is to be believed - is slide tackling, at which they rate him 24/100.
Bring on the modern revolution!
(For what it's worth I'm more of a Football Manager man myself, FM Genie Scout could unearth some more gems or maybe we could club together to raise the now obligatory donation for FMRTE and BR could turn Spearing and Adam into world beaters, increase the capacity of Anfield and up the wage and transfer budgets!)
